SALUSTRO, George C., Sr. 83 years of age, of Palm Bay, Florida, formerly of Newton and Waltham, March 4. Devoted father of Lydia Capulli of Roslindale, Anita Collins and her husband James of Milton, and George Jr. and his wife Joan of Tucson, AZ. George was the brother of Mary Salustro of Needham, Henry Salustro of Boston, and the late Elisabeth Asher of Issaquah, WA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and seven nieces and nephews. A World War II Army Veteran, and recipient of the Purple Heart Medal, George joined his Uncle, Paul Dell, at Service Pen Shop, for twenty-two years. He then managed the Bromfield Pen Shop for twenty-three years, and was a noted fountain pen repairman and aficionado of antique and unusual fountain pens. George had been featured in many newspaper and journal articles featuring his superior skills in repairing all makes of new and outdated pens. In 1992, he retired to Florida where he enjoyed golfing with Newton retirees and others, dancing, and gardening. A Memorial Service was held at the Palm Bay Funeral Home, Palm Bay, FL on March 5, and another is planned Monday April 13 at noon, at the Sacred Heart Church in Newton, MA.
